In an emergency, don't wait on us

Plures is not an emergency service, and SOS only tells your own groups you're lost. Find event staff or a medical tent, or call 911 if you can.

Common fixes

Messages aren't sending or friends don't show up

Plures needs Bluetooth to talk to other phones.

  • iPhone: open the Settings app, tap Plures, and turn Bluetooth on. Check that Bluetooth is on in Control Center too
  • Android: open Settings, then Apps, then Plures, then Permissions, and allow Nearby devices
  • Airplane mode can switch Bluetooth off. Turn Bluetooth back on after you switch it on
  • Don't swipe Plures away. It works in the background, but not after a force-quit
  • Make sure you're in the same group. A message waits and sends by itself once you're in range
Friends can't see me on the map
  • iPhone: Settings, then Plures, then Location, and choose While Using the App
  • Android: Settings, then Apps, then Plures, then Permissions, then Location, and choose Allow only while using the app
  • In Plures, check the line under the Friends header that says Sharing your location with and turn sharing on for that group
  • To keep your spot fresh with your phone in your pocket, turn on Keep my location updating when Plures is closed in Settings (tap your avatar)

Location is optional. Messages work without it.

A friend says "Needs update"

One of you is on an older version of Plures. Older versions can still read group chats, but direct messages, carried messages and delivery checks only work when you're both up to date.

Update Plures on both phones (TestFlight on iPhone, Google Play on Android), then open the app again. The label goes away once the newer version is seen nearby.

Plures stops working after a few hours on Android

Android may put Plures to sleep to save battery. When Plures asks to ignore battery optimization, tap Allow. If you skipped it: Settings, then Apps, then Plures, then Battery, and choose Unrestricted.

Reporting or blocking someone
  • Report: press and hold a message, then tap Report. It opens an email to us with the message details. If you have no mail app set up, email privacy@broexoticgroup.com yourself
  • Block: press and hold any message from that person, then tap Block. Their messages and location are hidden on your phone

Messages are end-to-end encrypted and travel phone to phone, so we can't read them. That's why blocking happens on your device.

Deleting your data

In Plures, tap your avatar, then Advanced, then Delete everything and confirm. On older versions it's called Nuke Everything. This erases your name, keys, groups and messages from your phone.

There's no account to close. The few encrypted copies our relay holds delete themselves within 7 days. Read exactly what gets deleted

How SOS works

Open a chat, tap its header menu, and hold Send SOS for one second. All your groups get "I'm lost, come find me." While it's on, you'll see Your SOS is active. Tap Cancel once you're found.

SOS does not contact emergency services or event staff.

App version notes

Plures 1.0 is in beta on iPhone (TestFlight) and Android (Google Play testing). Everyone in a group should run the newest version.

October 2026

Simpler, and built for the crowd

  • Two tabs: Friends (list, radar and map) and Chats (groups and direct messages together)
  • Settings moved to your avatar at the top left
  • Delivery in words: "2 of 4 got it", "Everyone got it", "Delivered", "Waiting for them to be nearby"
  • SOS is now hold to send, from a chat's header menu
  • Direct messages can be up to 4 KB
  • A new message format: friends on older versions show "Needs update"
  • The demo group is gone. You start with your own group
  • "Nuke Everything" is now Delete everything, under Advanced
